The End

After 3 years, more shows than I remember and some of the best times of my life it’s kind of weird to say that this is the end of Mora Orsa, the first band I ever really put my heart into. Tony and I started this band so long ago and we have had such a good time, nothing will ever change that. He’s embarking down a different walk of life and without him I will not perform under the name Mora Orsa. Things are changing and although times get hard things will be okay. Thank everyone who came to see us or just happened to see us and liked us or told us nice things or helped us book shows or lent us gear at shows thank everyone so much! special thanks to Donnie Carlo and Nic Johnson for playing bass with us! I have learned so much from this band and all the awesome and not that awesome shows we have played over the years I can’t wait to play again with whatever band comes from this, everything happens for a reason and this is somehow for the better, good things are coming! I am not going to waste anytime getting a new band together, as a matter of fact I have one we just need a drummer. A bit different than Mora Orsa my new group will be a bit more psychedelic/melodic/experimental and i will be stepping back on vocals to focus more on guitar arrangements, we have a bassist, vocalist and myself on guitar and backing vocals. If you or someone you know is a talented drummer in search of a band get in touch with us through MoraOrsaMusic@gmail.com we will continue to check this until we find a drummer and decide on a name. Our last show was a good note to end on I’d say, I wouldn’t count some kind of future reunion show out we all still love each other and you! I’ll see you all soon

Becoming the change we want to see

Hey friends, thank you all so much for everything and making so many awesome shows possible over the past 2 years. After our upcoming show at the Sidebar on August 13th we are going on an extended break. A lot of things are changing and a lot of things need to change, we are not breaking up and will be back next year with new material and members. We will be releasing a four song ep we recorded in the winter of 2010, the exact release date and all details will be announced at some point during this break and all the proceeds from sales will go towards recording new music. We will return better than ever, I’m not sure exactly how, but I’ve got a good feeling and know the music will flow from the heart. This is all for now I guess, love you all and hope to see you August 13th at The Sidebar!

Awesome weekend!

We would like to extend a massive THANK YOU and WE LOVE YOU to everyone who made it out to see us this weekend! Friday night we played the Ottobar and it was our first show with Nic, we played a new song for the first time and it sold out! It was an awesome night that couldn’t of been any better, we met a bunch of incredible, nice and open-minded people and I love it! Daycare Swindlers saved our set as Tony’s bass drum head broke half way through and used their bass drum for the remainder, they as well as trashkanistan and station were sweet and we hope to play with all of them again. As if all that wasn’t enough we played another great show last night at a party in college park at a very cool house with a very nice host. I have had a sinus infection for about a week and didn’t know if I would have a voice for either of those shows but everything worked out(thanks to honey) and they were both so fun!

OUR NEXT SHOW is MAY 5th!!!

This show will be at the SIDEBAR, it’s cinco de mayo as well as Tony’s birthday(a few days prior) and we would love to pack the sidebar for another awesome night in celebration!!!! Our former bassist Donnie’s new band SOLEIL NOIR will be opening the night up(btw they sound rad) and our good friends BAKLAVAA will also be playing with one more act to be announced. Invite everyone you know, this shit shouldn’t be missed!

Hello!!! We made this to share news with you all more, so in light of that we’ve got some exciting things to share!

I guess first off we have a new bassist now. But all is well and Donnie is awesome of course. He also helped us make this tumblr and the coooool purple background/the awesome city below(thank you!!!). Our new bassist is our friend Nic Johnson(Renton Cannon, For you, the World) and we’ve been catching him up to speed/working on a handful of new songs for about a month or so. It’s sounding pretty great and we are very excited to share some new songs as well as play our first show with Nic, which leads me too…

FRIDAY MARCH 11th @ THE OTTOBAR

We are opening up for LEFTOVER CRACK with Daycare Swindlers, Trashkanistan and Station. Doors are at 8, Show starts at 8:30, I believe we go on second. Looking forward to this, come welcome Nic into the band with us, we are going to have to play a new song to celebrate! If you want tickets Tony and Jake have tickets for $10 or it’s 12 at the door.
